Takatori yaki is a ceramic tradition started in the early 17th century on the island of Kyushu in Fukuoka prefecture. Takatori ware is intimately linked with the tea master Enshu Kobori. The ceramics are decorated with seven different natural glazes but the dark amber or caramel glaze is very characteristic of the tradition.
